Holiday Sourdough + Pie Workshop

The world of sourdough is vast and magical -- at this Sourdough + Pie Workshop you will learn the basics of baking with sourdough through hands on work. Come spend the day with like-minded bakers learning about all things sourdough though a hands-on experience of making your own pie with a sourdough pie crust -- utilizing all of the different characteristics a healthy sourdough starter has to offer. You will also be participating in mixing + shaping sourdough loaves and get to smell + taste some right out of the oven. We will discuss wild yeast, the benefit of fermenting flour, and how you can use and maintain your take-home starter. You will leave with some new-found knowledge and confidence to continue your sourdough baking adventures at home. At the end of our workshop, each student will go home with a recipe booklet, sourdough starter and instructions to keep it alive + well, and a pie to bake at home. Our workshop includes a light lunch with wine.
